UBC drinks tap water .

Bottled beverages often hide surprising amounts of sugar, caffeine and other additives. And while downing the occasional bottled drink might not be harmful, the cumulative impact on your health, wallet, and the environment is considerable.

Unlike the opinion of your parents, our tap water has been meticulously filtered.

Our tap water is as healthy, pure and safe as bottled water.

So why do we continue to reach for the bottled stuff? Water bottlers market a perception that their products are more “pure + healthy” than what comes out of the tap. To drive these myths home, bottlers engage in expensive marketing and public relations campaigns that question the safety and quality of municipal tap water.

It’s time to stop the madness and take back the tap!
